Larry & Daneya Mitchell active owners & managers of The S.P.A.H Specialists both hail from the North East. There affection for ALL animals is immeasurable, and will treat your fuzzy kids like they were there own. Larry grew up in Connecticut; he was raised with family pets. He has a calm & kind temperament, and loves animals. Prior to his move Westward he was a volunteer with the Special Olympics for 16 years, and with his special partner, they won 2 gold medals at the World Games in Ontario Canada. 4 years Ranch, Horse, Pet & Home Sitting. Skilled driving large farm equipment. Larry is currently employed at Roberts Quarter Horses an incredible breeding facility & family estate as a maintenance supervisor. Prior to this position Larry was the Operations Manager at Return To Freedom, American Wild Horse Sanctuary in Lompoc CA. Larry & Daneya were employed at the sanctuary as a live-on premises situation. Larry was hands on with the horse’s day to day needs & schedules. He also is a certified electrician and is experienced in many construction trades. As an electrician Larry has had to pass background checks & security clearance in order to work in high security areas inside pharmaceutical companies & aircraft manufacturing facilities.

Daneya grew up in New Hampshire owning & riding hunter jumper & eventing horses, she moved to the Southwest at the age of 18, and continued her passion with horses eventually the Western way took hold. She was Miss Rodeo De Santa Fe in 1991, and for 15 years after taught individuals/families horse care & riding to clients who were either looking for there first horse or new to horse ownership. 8 years experience with Ranch, Horse, Pet & Home Sitting. She has worked closely with vets for many years, and gained extensive knowledge & proficiency of administering Horse, Farm Animal & Pet first aid. Dogs & cats have always been a natural state of her household currently her family has 3 dogs & 2 cats; all animals she brings into her life stay until there life comes to a natural close.. Grew up in a holistic household long before alternatives were common or popular. Daneya’s previous employment was the Sr. Administrator & Program Coordinator at Return To Freedom, American Wild Horse Sanctuary in Lompoc, CA. Larry & Daneya were live-on premises, and totally immersed in the day to day care of over 200 horses & 19 burros. Daneya has passed FBI background checks for prior employment at a District Attorneys office and as a property manager for a Sergeant who was called to duty & needed someone to handle his rentals & estate bank accounts.

Larry & Daneya’s 14 Year old daughter was born out West, and has her family’s natural ease & love of animals. She has a wonderful Mustang/Shetland pony named Canyon, and can’t imagine life without him. She is an honor student, and in advanced classes. She is an avid reader and takes Capoiera & American Sign Language classes. Her dream for over 5 years now is to become a marine biologist.
